D.El.Ed. is a two year regular teacher training program approved by National Council Teacher Education (NCTE) and affiliated to Bihar School Examination Board, Patna. This course can be pursued by students who have passed 10+2 (any stream) from a recognized board.
After completing 2 years long academic program, D.El.Ed. Professionals become eligible to work at elementary level schools and similar educational institutes imparting elementary education. This teacher training course suits those who want to teach at lower (1-8) level schools.

Types of D.El.Ed

Diploma in Elementary Education, commonly known as D.El.Ed. It is a two year full-time diploma course to train teachers for the primary level. Students can pursue D.El.Ed after completion of 10+2.

D.El.Ed Eligibility

Those colleges which offer D.El.Ed courses have different eligibility criteria. Few colleges offer admission on the basis of a 10+2 score while others conduct their own entrance exams. Those candidates who want to pursue D.El.Ed need to fulfil the following eligibility criteria.

  • Candidates should have done their 10+2 from a recognized board.

  • The total marks should be an aggregate of 50 per cent marks or its equivalent at 10+2 level.

  • The age bar may vary from one state to another state board. However, generally the minimum age criteria is 18 years and maximum age limit is 35 years.

  • Candidates should have good command over communication skills, creative thinking, patience and have an aptitude to teach.
